NovitaTech provides mobility and seating solutions for children and adults with a broad range of mobility, postural and functional needs.
Working alongside therapists, clients and support teams, we help identify, trial, customise and maintain equipment that supports independence, comfort and participation in everyday life.
Clinical Service Model
Our Mobility and Seating team provides technical, clinical and product expertise to support equipment selection and configuration, with clinical responsibility retained by the prescribing therapist.
We work collaboratively across a broad range of experience levels. For experienced Assistive Technology (AT) prescribers, we provide targeted product and technical input to support clinical decision-making. For therapists newer to AT or the NDIS process, we provide broader guidance across product selection, equipment trials and the AT application pathway. We also deliver education sessions for occupational therapists, physiotherapists and support coordinators, tailored to different levels of clinical experience and need. Services are available in clinic, in the home and through regional visits across South Australia.
Technical Expertise
Our team includes expertise in Occupational Therapy, Biomedical Engineering and Rehabilitation Engineering, supported by skilled workshop staff across a range of technical and trade disciplines.
Mobility and Seating as well as Repairs and Maintenance sit together under Technical Services and work closely as one team. Mobility and Seating focuses on new client equipment, with complex fittings completed on site, while Repairs and Maintenance delivers ongoing repairs, servicing and spare parts support to clients in the community.

NovitaTech offers seating solutions across the full spectrum, from off-the-shelf modular systems through to fully customised seating systems for clients with complex postural needs.
Handmade Custom Foam
Experienced technicians hand-shape custom foam components where bespoke craftsmanship is required to meet specific clinical, postural and comfort requirements.
Foam-in-Place
A two-part expanding foam system captures a direct body impression in the client’s natural seated posture, producing a highly conforming seating surface suited to clients with complex postural and positioning needs.
3D Scanning
Surface scanning captures complex body contours and postural data to support the design and fabrication of custom seating solutions. The resulting digital profile can be refined before fabrication and retained for future reference, supporting reviews, adjustments and repeat builds over time.
3D Printing
Additive manufacturing enables the production of custom components, brackets and hardware modifications not available off the shelf. Printed seating can provide improved airflow for better thermoregulation and easier hygiene management compared with solid foam. This also supports rapid prototyping and highly individualised solutions.
Cushions
Icare Seat Cushion
There are several sizes available in both 5 cm and 10 cm thickness in the Icare basic seat cushioning line. These cushions are ideal for adding comfort to wheelchairs, vehicles, and house seats since they have washable zip-off coverings and an ActiveX core.
Icare’s regular seat cushion lineup has ActiveX cores, which react to pressure differently. The Icare cushions will conform to the shape of your body, eliminating pressure areas, unlike traditional foam cushions that push back.
Does Medicare cover a wheelchair seat cushion?
A general use seat cushion and a general use wheelchair back cushion is covered for a user who has a manual wheelchair or a power wheelchair with a sling/solid seat/back which meets Medicare coverage criteria.

Can you still push a self propelled wheelchair?
Users can easily maneuver self-propelled wheelchairs by utilizing the push-rims incorporated into the large rear wheels. The inclusion of push handles also allows for effortless assistance from another individual when required.
